Name:
Aconan Eyulft
Aconan is derived from 'Conan' which means little wolf or little hound.
Eyulft is derived from 'fealty' rearranged and letter swapped. Fealty is the acknowledgment of loyalty to a higher power.

Blood colour:
88BA00 (or as close as is acceptable - it might (still) be a shade too bright.)
This just about tips her into the greenblood bracket, and boy is she grateful for it. Whilst she is pretty low on the greenblood scale she's still green, which means her prospects in the Fleet and as a member of her Royal Highness's Army or Fleet or whatever she's gonna call it, are far better than if she were even a shade lower. Specifically, she dreams of being a hunterrorist, hunting down fugitives and enemies of the empire!

Gender:
Female is Aconan's preferred gender, although she tends towards the androgynous in presentation and clothing choices. Honestly she's not too fussed about pronouns or gender in general, so if she gets mistaken for a boy she doesn't tend to push it unless people are weird about it. Indeed she gets somewhat of a thrill from being able to make people believe she's a boy one day and a girl the next with clever applications of makeup and clothing. It proves good for any hunterrorist stealth training, after all!

Symbol:
A circle with a swirl inside, somewhat resembling a tennis ball if you squint, it is neatly stamped or sewn onto all her clothes such as the center of her T-shirt.


Personality:

Aconan is a strange little troll, probably because growing up she did very little socializing with actual, real-live trolls. She had plenty of tatty dolls that she played with, and Loupsus introduced her to the local howlbeast pack - and of course she had schoolfeeding that included emotional-social courses, but she lacks real-life experience, which probably contributes to some of her oddities. But despite these oddities, Aconan is a well-intentioned troll. She honestly likes socializing with people and animals, even if she has the unfortunate habit as classing them as prey to be played with.

This lonely existence was partially caused by her location - Busthind Mountain is an indomitable fortress, and even the caves where trolls live are as often inhabited by large predators as they are by young (or less young) trolls, but also was influenced by her lusus's fear for Aconan, and his knowledge that other trolls might try and hurt his charge. He didn't want to let her out, and Aconan was happy enough to follow in her beloved lusus's pawsteps of isolation. Now that she's getting older however, she's more determined to meet other trolls, and her lusus is slightly happier she can take care of herself.

One might notice, that despite this lack of experience, Aconan is still able to communicate herself and her feelings to other trolls. (one might say a little TOO well...) And has plenty of knowledge about the Fleet. This is due to Aconan's love of watching videos! Particularly the propaganda videos about the Fleet and the Empire, but she also dabbles into watching other things. She mainly only gets the ones that accompany the schoolfeeding, though occasionally she's come across empty cave-hives that have been abandoned and taken any remaining videos from there. One of the things she's excited for now she's allowed out is the ability to BUY new videos!

Whilst Aconan like all young trolls has a variety of interests, she pursues one with definite precision : she hunts. Part of this is due to the influence of her lusus, who has instilled in her definite survival skills (we'll come to this in a bit), but out of all the skills he's tried to pass onto her, Aconan has taken to hunting the most. She enjoys the chase, the thrill of the sneak as much as the pounce. She enjoys the variety in hunting, and she enjoys the danger. Not a thrillseeker so much as she enjoys proving herself in victory - and of course not living near to a city she tends to eat what she catches, so that adds another dollop of pride - she's providing for herself and not burdening the drone system!

As well as hunting for food, Aconan has a plethora of knowledge of other survival skills - living on her own means there's nobody around to help her if she gets hurt, and howlbeast paws can only do so much. Since she was a grub Loupsus nosed the first aid schoolfeeding towards her, and like the obedient troll she is, Aconan devoured it. Whilst she's not into knowledge for knowledge's sake - she doesn't like to read thick textbooks and the like - she does like knowing useful skills - one of her most valued posessions is a thick copy of "A Wrigglers Guide to the Wilderness." The first aid skill is particularly useful for a troll who doesn't back down from a fight- more than once Loupsus has stepped in front of her and an older troll who she's provoked, and she's got pretty good at bandaging up her lusus.

Because she does provoke people. Sometimes intentionally if they're behaving out of line, and sometimes unintentionally because she can be very irritating - She's a very touch-happy person, and she has issues recognizing personal space as a thing that exists. As well as physical boundaries, she struggles with social boundaries too. For example she understands you don't go in people's hives uninvited, but if you tell her to make herself at home, she will sniff everywhere, or leave the loadgaper seat up, or leave wet towels on the floor...you get the idea. She tends to take things very literally as well, which doesn't help.

This isn't to say she's disrespectful - she has a firm understanding of the hemospectrum, and would never try anything like that in a superior's home. Only those who are lower on the spectrum are treated to the full Aconan experience, so to speak. She's a lot friendlier to those who are lower than her than she is highbloods, as she acts more like a servant or aide to them than her natural over-friendly self, acting very cool and collected. At the moment she doesn't see lower trolls as dangerous, because she believes everyone has to behave according to the rules she herself adheres to regarding the hemospectrum and not attacking/disrespecting their betters.

Here's the thing. Aconan might be secure in her heirarchy, but she's doesn't always like the effects of it. She understands that lowbloods are lower than highbloods, but surely they should still be looked after? Howlbeasts always look after their pack. And it worries her that the Alternian system doesn't always work that way. She struggles to differentiate between appropriate friendships, because growing up Loupsus taught her that howlbeasts are all good, even if they play very different roles in the pack. In general, she struggles to match up her idea of what the hierarchy should be to what it actually is, and whilst she never lets this conflict show, always making herself believe that the hierarchy is correct - because that's what schoolfeeding says and that's what the empress says - she still harbours doubts. This tends to reflect in her behaviour as indecision and denial! If a highblood told her to do something against her moral code she would prevaricate and postpone and in general try and postpone it until the opportunity ha passed! If she saw something that broke or upset her worldview, she would simply ignore it, and not think about it. If pushed, Aconan will generally follow the hierarchy as it is, but one day this might change.

In terms of attacking trolls, Aconan is the view of an eye for an eye and then that's it. Once her version of correction or justice has been meted out, you're on a blank slate again. She holds grudges to an extent : that is to say until revenge has been meted out, and once that has happened she will not longer hold a grudge against you. She's very much the kind of troll to beat you up if you've slighted her, but then patch you up afterwards because "we're done being dumb to each other now, right?"

She's aware that sometimes trolls get mad at her, or upset, but she struggles to understand why, and is more interested in finding out how trolls tick in regards to prey than she is understanding her own social deficiencies.

Overall, Aconan is a very rule-orientated troll, despite her feral tendencies. She belives in a hierarchy and the rules handed down to her, and tries to obey them to her best ability, even when they don't benefit her directly.

Strengths:

Holistic

Aconan understands her place in the world ; she's a midblood, above some and below others. She's happily helpful to those above her station, and indulgently kind to those below as long as they behave. She's almost a model example for how to treat the hemospectrum. Even when it doesn't benefit her, such as her beetles ran out because she ruined too many clothes hunting that sweep, she simply accepted that she needed to do better, and learned (roughly) how to sew. This ended up having a positive benefit in that she managed to make herself a tail, and this is what she took from it - not the weeks she spent in ill-fitting, uncomfortable clothing. This sense of hierarchy helps her keep things in perspective, and help civilize her despite her feral tendencies!


Dextrous

A childhood spend in the wilds and wilderness hasn't lent Aconan strength like some, but instead speed and dexterity - particularly the latter. She's an expert at throwing small rocks with deadly aim, adept at dodging if Loupsus doesn't get there in time to save her from a wild animal, and in general pretty darn good at wriggling her way out of a pinch. This is all to an extent, mind you - she's still a wriggler, so she can be outrun easily by bigger, stronger trolls and large animals. Thankfully for those she has an over-protective, pretty darn scary lusus to deal with them!

Fierce

What Aconan believes in, she believes in wholeheartedly. She can also be pretty aggressive, and never backs down from a fight! If somebody is wrong, if someone is not adhering to the correct hierarchy, you have to let them know - and for those lower than you who aren't showing proper deference, you have to make them submit, whether through words or actions. She does like a good scuffle - sometimes being rougher than neccessary to make her point. But for trolls, an aptitude for rough and tumble is an admirable trait : She's not afraid to take on a challenge, or get her hands dirty! This also applies to people: she's fierce in the defence of her friends, and persecution of enemies.


Perceptive

Being a hunter is a major part of Aconan's personality, and it spills over into her strengths - being a hunter means you have to know your prey, and for Aconan, her eventual prey will be trolls, which has lead her to learn all about them. She learns from her lusus the sights and sounds and smells, the tells and tics of huntable creatures - and then she turns round and applies that same learning to trolls. It's more difficult with trolls of course. What one troll does might mean something completely different for another troll. Still, she's good at spotting and understanding body language - she's particularly good at telling if someone's lying, and whilst she can't always understand why people are doing what they're doing, she can usually spot trouble coming. She's also good at spotting small details others overlook.

Flaws:

Feral

Whilst a grubhood spent growing up in the wilds has done wonders to instil in her physical strength, it's done little for her social skills. Whilst she considers herself a model citizen, the truth is she's a little too boisterous for most trolls. Her speech tends to be loud and her words almost crude in places. She's too quick to instigate physical contact both cruel and kind - be it punching someone in the shoulder because she thinks they're cool, or biting someone because they're a whiny grub who needs to shape up. She sometimes acts a little too much like her lusus as well - barking at strange trolls or growling at them.


Lack of Empathy

Despite how perceptive Aconan can be in regards to seeing trouble coming and knowing when trolls are lying, she struggles to understand why it happens, or the reasons behind people getting upset. In fact, she's pretty oblivious to other trolls emotional reactions! She can read them from their body language, and predict based off that, but she doesn't understand them, or where they come from. In the same vein, she's not very self-aware: suddenly she'll be upset or angry, and not understand why. She also struggles to react appropriately to her own and other trolls emotional reactions, especially if they break her rules : in general she has a lack of empathy, which hinders her interactions with other trolls because she often comes off as uncaring, or rude.

Rigid

Aconan is very much stuck in her ways. She takes direction from highbloods easily, but taking directions from lowerbloods stings and she's unlikely to follow it. She wants to be a hunterrorist, so she only trains skills that would be useful in that sense, and doesn't look at others. You could say she's got blinker-vision: She focuses on the things she wants, needs or accepts, and ignores all others. She doesn't change easily, if at all. Tantrums have been thrown when things don't go as they should, and there's been many a sulk over last-minute changes to dinner.



Petty

Aconan is a petty, petty child. Maybe she'll grow out of it with age, but at the moment even small slights or off-hand comments are seen as deadly insults, and the slightest hint of kindness and BAM friends-for-life which unfortunately includes hugs and snuffling, courtesty of one mal-socialized little troll. This also applies to set backs and victories - minor setbacks are a cause to cry and sulk, and victories are a cause to cheer and celebrate - even if that victory is as small as catching a mouse or making a new friend.

Appearance: Short, almost buzz-cut hair with a big tuft at the front. Semi-twinned horns that meet at the top in the appearance of pointed ears. A howlbeast tail, carefully taken from a dead howlbeast and stuffed, dyed (with the help of copious grublood paint) in the colours of her horns. Black tank-top shirt with her symbol dyed on. Fingerless gloves! Cargo pants in very dark green. Black climbing-type shoes. Generally some bandages or plasters somewhere thanks to her rough and tumble tendencies.

Weapon: At the moment she's weaponless, being as she's a kid. But she's saving every last beetle for a sniper rifle!!

Home:
Cave
Busthind Mountain. Sheer, indomitable cliffs. Sharp, snowy drops. The growing place of the strongest, bravest trolls Alternia has to offer! Also there's a forest with lots of game not too far away, that's useful too. She lives near the middle of the mountain - high enough that there's other howlbeasts around to observe and hunt with, but low enough that she can go hunt in the forests, too. There's...not many other trolls where Aconan lives, though. This makes her kind of sad sometimes, but she tells herself that solitude is the start of hunterrorist training, and anyway, occasionally she meets others! Plus now she's a bit older, Loupsus says they can go on extended hunting trips- maybe even to the big city!

Lusus:
Loupsus is a giant, white-furred, double-eared howlbeast. Larger than the natural howlbeasts in the area, Loupsus is a top predator. He's also Aconan's fluffy, cuddly Lusus who licks her wounds when she falls over and nuzzles her when she cries. Like all lusii, Loupsus has a strong protective instinct towards his charge, and like many he cares deeply for his little troll, wanting her to be the best she can be! Within the set heirarchy of course. Loupsus is smart for a lusus, almost canny, and tries to keep Aconan on the right track with both her schoolfeeding and her loyalties - she has to be in the big-blood-pack, after all.
