Every year, Venus, the Goddess of Love hosts a fabulous extravaganza for the denizens of Telrunya. It's an occasion to honor and worship the beautiful goddess, while having a good time with friends and loved ones. Her mischievous sons sometimes show up, and cause a little mayhem, but that's all part of the fun!
Last Valentine's Day, things got a little out of hand. Worried that it might be a deterrent for guests this year, she's taken measures to ensure her sons will behave. Each one is outfitted with a bow tie that allows Venus to reign them in, should they get a little out of hand. This is to be a peaceful, lovely evening.
It is still a mystery what happened last year to cause such a disruption, and Pothos doesn't remember anything that happened after awakening hog-tied in the closet in the temple.
Venus still doesn't know where all those babies came from. Her sons' arrows only cause love, not babies. |

:[ The Event ]:This year, Venus is determined to have a fun, enjoyable evening with the Pae'il. She's gone through great lengths to ensure all trouble-makers have been nullified, including collars in the guise of bow ties on her sons.
All Pae'il Teen or older may attend the party with a date.
Venus has set up large aquarium tanks for the Naiads so they can be comfortable. She is not normally this accommodating, but she feels she needs to do a little damage control. (She needs the love generated from this event to survive the rest of the year. Last year was rough because there wasn't as much love. Lust is good and all, but she prefers genuine love.)
When I say Venus did something, I really mean she ordered the Cupid Mellons to do it.
:[ The Game ]:As with all Valentine's Day Balls, there is a twist. This year, we're doing a Choose Your Own Adventure style Role-Play with prizes hidden behind selected choices and prompts.
Only couples who have RSVP'd prior to the game starting can participate in the game. Any Pae'il is allowed to attend for the RP.
All actions are to be determined as a pair, unless otherwise indicated.
All Erote arrows will be in play for this game, so there is a chance that a couple could emerge MARRIED. So make sure you are okay with the pairing becoming married for canon. (Married Pae'il cannot breed with any other Paeil).
There is always the possibility that couples hit by the Erotes Arrows could end up having babies. We're still trying to figure out how the arrows do that, because they're not supposed to. They are only a love spell, not a fertility spell.
There will not be any random coupling this year. Only couples entered will receive the oops!babies. This event provides the opportunity to pair two pae together without having a prior relationship established for breeding. (Normal breeding requires an established relationship and documented RP)
TEENS may not go to the ball with an ADULT unless their actual age difference is less than 6 months. (That means the Teen is likely due to grow anyway)
:[ Rules ]:Only one prize per person, regardless how many of one person's Pae'il complete the game.
Staff and Guest Staff may participate. Staff cannot win the regular prizes, but they can win the breedings. Staff cannot help make the decisions for the game, so their partner will be making all the choices solo.
New choices will be posted daily. If a day is missed, that couple is eliminated.
This is not a judged RP contest, but in order to advance to the next round, RP is required to make a choice between the three given actions.
Bad things might happen, depending on the choices your Pae'il make. Don't worry, no Pae'il will die, but there is a chance for injury.
Your Pae'il is allowed to pick up the various items that might be laying around wherever they may end up. Some of them will turn into prizes, some of them will be required to advance in the game, some are just random items scattered around.
If you play an Erote Grace, we'll tag you when it's your turn, so you don't miss out. Any Erote or Grace player who does not show up will be controlled by the staff for the purpose of not stalling the event. If you have a problem with this, play your IPC or surrender him or her back to the shop.
Some prompts will come with additional rules, so pay attention.

End: Round 6, or when the final challenger is defeated. (6 days)

Everything was just perfect! The goddess couldn't help but squeal with delight. Pink, red, and white organza hung around the ballroom like streamers. Mellons scurried about putting the the finishing touches on the buffet tables and decorations. One mellon in particular was struggling to straighten out the bows and flowers at the feet of a Venus-shaped ice sculpture on one of the tables. It was time!. The goddess fluffed her blonde tresses and put on her biggest, brightest smile as Pae entered ballroom through giant double doors.
"Welcome, one and all. As you know, I am Venus. I'll be your hostess for the evening. We will be shortly announcing our King and Queen of the ball. In the meantime, have fun, of course! I personally guarantee you that my children are on their best behavior, and, my, aren't they so dapper-looking in their formal ball attire. Take after their glorious mum, they do!"
Making an exaggerated gesture to two particular pae entering the room, Venus giggled and bounced a bit. "There they are! Our King and Queen for the evening. Yukiko and my sweet boy Anteros!" A spotlight fell on the pair as mellons hastily crowned the two with laurels interwoven with roses.
"Now that the guests of honor have arrived, please enjoy my food, my wine, and my song!"
With that, Venus swept up to an ornate and largely overcompensating throne. The party had begun.

Theron is thrilled beyond words to be out and about with his lovely wife. She had the tendency to be a bit of a recluse, but when they'd gotten the invitation to Venus' party she'd insisted they attend. He's excited to spend a romantic evening together, something they hadn't really been able to do since the birth of their children. He hopes, however, that they'll be able to spend more quality time together, since their girls are grown and making their way out into the world.
He sweeps into the room, Leilani on his arm, wearing a green silk jacket with gold buttons and calf-length pants to match, these ones blue with gold accents. He looks at Leilani and grins, kissing her cheek. "I love you," he murmurs. "You look beautiful." |

Lillison was fairly excited about the dance, she had even gone into the water for a brief amount of time to collect some kelp to make herself a simple gown. In fact, she had been to a lot of parties and dances that had been held on the island over the years, but she was such a shy little fish that the never stayed long or had much fun. Now she had someone to go with, Lugh, even if they were going as friends. The more she practiced, the better the naiad had gotten at walking. Lillison now felt confident enough in her ability to walk, dancing was another matter though, she really hoped no one asked her to dance.
Curiosity had been consuming the spotted faun as of late and had led to him being an attendee at this dance that Venus was throwing. He has been a result of the erotes' funny business, or so he had been told when he was old enough to understand. Even now, he still didn't understand though. It wasn't just the mischievous gods that he wondered about though, a party seemed like a generally good place to find out about things going on around the island, especially outside of Laisidhiel. With things being so crazy as of late, an event where the different races were mixing... something was bound to happen. So Terran was mostly here to observe, but if he managed to have fun at the same time... well all the better.
Dysmas slowly wandered into the dance after all the announcements had already been done. He wasn't sure what he was hoping to get out of going to this dance, but he thought it was an experience he should have. Dysmas had even dressed up for the occasion, he had slicked back his hair so that his wave tossed curls were smoothed out and he was wearing a bow tie around his neck, that had been his mother's idea. Dysmas tugged at the bow tie uncomfortably and then straightened it out for the 115th time. The water angel was incredibly uncertain of himself surrounded by so many normal pae. Dysmas smiled at the aquariums that were set up, maybe he could chill in their with the other naiads. If he did that he would only stand out more when his finned legs didn't turn into a tail. Dysmas decided to throw out that idea. There were a lot of old people here, making the teen feel even more out of place, so he busied himself in looking for another of his age.
Upon receiving her invitation for the dance, Louise had gotten incredibly excited. The fae loved a good party, and the dancing was just a plus. Louise was an incredibly dancer, by herself or with a partner, so she wasn't afraid to attend the party stag, it just gave her the opportunity to meet some others. She practically floated into the ballroom and eagerly looked around for some entertainment.
The candy cane licorice demon was wandering around on another adventure with Yipes, for some reason the male had grown used to the disillusioned. While he thought their game was a game and Yipes thought it was real, it didn't change it from being fun. A pretend adventure was still an adventure. The demon could hear the noises coming from inside Venus' temple as they passed it. "Hey do you hear that?" Twizzz asked Yipes, it sounded like a party that needed to be crashed. Parties usually had candy... Twizzz perked up, his pointed ears twitching. He had to get into that party. "Hey Yipes... maybe your friends are in there..." Twizzz certainly had some candy friends in there that he wanted to become reacquainted with. The pae steered their boat... or was it a submarine now?... towards the double doors of the ballroom.
Azure had arrived at Kahlua's home to pick up Brandi, as he had agreed to. Despite the fact that he wasn't all that interested in Brandi, Azure did the polite thing and brought her a flower corsage to wear, hoping that it would make her feel special or less spiteful towards him. He would escort the fiery pae to the dance, but he wasn't really sure what would happen after they got there, was he supposed to chaperon her the entire time. Their walk to the dance had been awkward and uncomfortable, especially since neither one of them really wanted to be here, it was something that Kahlua... and possibly Trager... had set them up for. Azure looked around the dance at the fluffy pink decorations, he really shouldn't be here. All this stuff about love, was just making old memories resurface and his heart stung. Azure had tried to fake happiness for Kahlua, but now that it was just him and Brandi it was becoming more difficult. "So... what now?" he asked his partner. |

Cadassi stood at the doorway and stared inside. It seemed he was early. Leitha was nowhere in sight. Nobody was here. Just the mellons nd the poor erotes. Venus was in there bossing mellons around like nobodies business. The poor erotes were just standing around, looking sad/rejected/longingly/lustful. Wait... Did the reddish orange one just wink at him????
Shuddering, he backed a little more outside and hid behind the door. His newly pressed white suit gave a small protest as he crouched down. He wished Leitha had given him a time rather than just a "Be there in a suit."
Tocino adjusted his little black bowtie before checking on his date. He was happy. For once in his life, he didn't smell like bacon. Thanks to Navidad, a combo of soap, shampoo, and perfume, and his resulting bath in the items mentioned above, he smelled like freesia and jasmine.
He couldn't be happier. Nothing beat smelling like flowers instead of bacon.
Opal gave a relunctant sigh and adjusted her dress again. She was unused to wearing clothes and this fuschia frilly, lacey dress thing that the faunie had sold her looked beautiful but felt so strange on her skin. Like someone touching her everywhere at once.
She wasn't sure why she had even came. Other than meeting new pae, she would have much rather stayed back at her campsite, eating fish.
Speaking of campsite, she wondered where her companion had gone. She turned to look for him.
