[About the Rite of Passage...]
Every youngster must perform this Rite at sometime in their life, no matter how much they want to avoid it. Before the reign of the new King this was a personal matter for the family, he has since changed this tradition so that it is a time of great celebration.
This event is presided over by the entire pride, with the strongest swimmers waiting on the shore to recover any participant that struggles in the water during their Rite.
At the end of the Rite, when all the cubs and adolescents (and new rogues) have completed their task, a large feast is held with the fish they have successfully managed to capture.
Ram has placed great importance on learning team work, so it is not uncommon for the adolescents to succeed in bringing in huge catches when they operate as a group!
Important Note:
While this is a mini game, it will have no long lasting, permanent affects on your cub or rogue's future. It's just for a little bit of fun, but you're free to embrace whatever result you get from here as well!

The Rite of Passage takes place in the coastal bay more closely protected by the cliffs. This ensures that the water is slightly more gentle near the shore, and keeps the youngest and weaker swimmers safe.
It is perfectly positioned so that the denizens of the outer islands can also admire the festivities while providing support and assistance from the other side of the bay in case something should go wrong.
[How to Play...]
We can't stress the importance of this being a bit of fun, don't panic if you don't get the result you want!
There may only be one dice per post.
There may only be one character per opening post. Each of your characters will need their own opening post. You can combine them into one post after their rolls have been completed.
Roll one 20-sided dice.
If you cub is from a Bahari'mtoto rogue breeding, they will receive a -5 to all rolls by default.
If your cub is from a mated, official pairing, they will receive a +1 bonus.
Outcome of your rolls are below:
1-5 = The water does not favour you today, a sobering revelation.
6-10 = The water has found you acceptable today, an expected and relieving result.
11-15 = The water regards you favourably today, a time to celebrate.
16-20 = You are truly blessed by the ocean today! A true honour indeed.
You may choose to find whatever fish you would like for the feast, there are no rolls for this bit!

This was an event that they had been told to expect since they were very young, not that there was anything to be worried about, they'd all been swimming before... But there was a considerable amount of pomp and circumstance about the entire thing. According to what little he had actually listened to from the elders, this had once been a more private affair, but with the influx of so many rogues, Huo's father had elected to make it something much more grand.
...It wasn't that Ram was a showman by any means, it was more than he had realised he needed to find several new, and more creative ways to introduce this new blood to the cultural events of their new home. Not that Huo cared, he'd always liked a good party and he'd embraced this opportunity much the same as any other.
Besides, what was the worst that could happen?
It was with a series of stretches that he finally made his way into the water, and after he had received a nod from one of the observing elders, he waded further in and began to submerge himself beneath the waters. The crowd of gathered Bahari would have to wait several more minutes to find out whether the ocean would accept him though...

Huo had slipped into the water with ease, something that had both done so many times before. However on this occasion, Shui was acutely aware that he was being watched and seemingly, all eyes were on him. He was being paranoid of course, they were watching everyone but it was an unusual amount of pressure for him to feel resting on his shoulders. Regardless, the adolescent was comfortable with swimming at least, and once the elders were satisfied Huo was far enough away, they waved Shui forward.
The blue maned lion couldn't yet see his brother underneath the water, but he had no doubt that somewhere under there, Huo was simply admiring the view. After all, the Bahari'mtoto had some of the most beautiful secrets beneath the waves, why wouldn't someone take a peak until they eventually ran out of air and had to come back to the surface?
This in mind, the teenager soon stepped towards the water and waded in himself. Echoing the motions of his own brother, it wasn't long before he too was submerged beneath the water and all but disappeared from view. Except on this occasion, it seemed that not everything would go to plan...

Soleil was tiny and with this, came a certain element of risk... But when it came to these particular events, the vast majority of the Bahari had taken comfort in just how many precautions had been taken. While Ram now required all cubs to participate as well as teenagers, this hadn't been a decision made without putting considerable protections in place.
Thus, even as Soleil padded her way towards the shore, there were several adults waiting patiently in the water and a series of key points. If the child found herself in any form of distress, she wouldn't have to wait to receive assistance. That being said, the little cub didn't appear to be exhibiting any apprehension - though she might have always been a quiet child, the little one seemed to have inherited the same confidence that all Bahari should have had around the water.
This was to be further supported when the elder gave a little wave for her to come forward.
Soleil didn't require any encouragement as she scurried forward and promptly leapt into the water, quickly disappearing into its depths to greet whatever might lurk beneath...

 Kaluwa was glad to be back at his home, despite not being an 'official' beach bum up until recently he hadn't quite realized how much he had grown comfortable and attached to the golden sands and blue waters till he left. He wouldn't be ashamed to admit that he totally spent next day and a half once the trip out to the Dov was over just sunbathing in the warm rays and lazing in the waves. Almost to ingrain the sea back into his very body and soul. ...Not that it had ever left to begin with. He had been politely reminded by some of the elders to keep a much less... dramatic performance than he had shown in the past. Shame too, the spot they had picked out to him was ripe makings for a good olde cannonball into the sea. Would have made this whole thing go a lot faster in his opinion. But he wasn't one to call the shots so oh well! He would comply to their wishes without argument least he wanted to end up with a very sore bump on the head from a stern paw. Kaluwa eased his large lumbering body into the waves slowly, trying not to cause too much disturbances in the water behind him due to the little ones still making their way as well. Lifting a paw he flashed a sturdy salute to the familiar dash of tan and purple watching from the sidelines expectantly before he too submerging himself under.  She was getting far too old for this. Normally the water gave her a added mobility that she hadn't felt in years. Perhaps that's why in her age she felt the need to gravitate to it more, her daily swims to ease her joint pain becoming longer and longer. Today was not one of those days she would be enjoying her swim to say the least. But this was something she respected that every Bahari had to go through in their lifetime, despite her discomfort she wasn't going to spit on the time honored traditions of her home. Though that didn't mean she wasn't looking forward to all of this ceremony and pomf to be over with! Taking a few labored steps into the sand Ume began to enter the sea. As soon as the water reached a decent level she lowered her body down to use the weightlessness of water to her advantage. Without a single blink of an eye Ume dove under the water to let the ocean take her where it wished. How the ocean felt about her today would remain to be seen for quite a few minutes. The ceremony had been brought to her attention after she had already committed to joining the pride, finding a home and many other things that cemented her staying within the prides lands on a permanent basis. She wasn't sure if it would have made her think twice about staying, but perhaps it would have made her consider her choices - why did it have to be a swim? The lioness approached the scene as though it weren't a celebration and instead a life test, one that she hadn't studied for (not even a little bit).
Her memory served her well though as she recalled bobbing her green head as she was advised on what needed to happen. Then she recalled feeling her eyes slowly widen at the mentioning of entering the ocean. Krisis collected herself well though, holding herself together.
Why did she think she could live in a pride with a huge body of water and avoid it?
"Hello." She cooed as she wandered up to the endless body before her. The ocean moved slowly, almost in a welcoming manner. The way it moved was almost hypnotizing and she found herself pressing forward without hesitation. Then the water pushed back a little bit, pressing at her toes and rising to her ankles and she cringed. When her and her Mother had first come here she had entered the ocean without a hitch, but she did have the support of her Mother.. this time she was alone in the matter a one versus one persay. The ocean had a huge advantage though, appearing as endless as it did, it could swallow her up just as easily as a lion kills small game. "Okay, I won't hurt you.. if you don't hurt me." She whispered to the ocean.
"I think I can." The lioness muttered to herself and finally committed to the act.
Krisis threw herself into the ocean, dropping herself with noticeable hesitation, though likely only noticeable to those who knew her - say Solomon? The worry about being mocked or questioned faded as she felt the waters surround her in the most intimate way, not a single part of her remained dry at this point and with her eyes closed she actually felt safe beneath the surface.

The steadily growing cub (whom is obsessed with rocks and all things related to them) was fancying himself a look-see at the waters edge, a distance away from the festivities. Maji leaned forward, gazing into the water, seeking the gems below it's surface. A few shouts, some ruckus and a whole lot of his own luck he went to gaze towards the noise and found himself falling forward into the water. A pink cub wandering by, that he'd met earlier this season (Meri) snorted at the sight and remarked about his state. "You know that doesn't count.. and if it did I don't believe the waters favor you." He smirked, amused to the core at the now dripping wet cub that was lifting himself from the mess.
"Shut up Meri." He stated plainly at the cub passing by him. "You'll see, the ocean will love me.. probably." He snickered to himself softly and collected a few more rocks for a pouch he wore. The small satchel was full of his prized items by this point in the day and he finally made his way over to family, friends and a few he barely knew.
"Hello!" He called out, having a similar loud personality to his giirlfriend. "Yukio?" He shouted, not sure if his pale friend had already taken the nose dive that proved the oceans fondness for them. When he didn't hear a response he decided to wade into the water and test his abilities - not considering that the pouch strapped to him might cause some issues, weight wise as he was far to distracted by a lioness.. no goddess, that seemed to be struggling with the idea of entering the waters.

The pink cub was on his way to arriving early when he spied a rather peculiar spectacle of the green cub, Maji, that he'd met this past season prior to the corralling of cubs for their test with the ocean. When he spied the other he witnessed a whole scene playing out before his very eyes. The cub teetered forward and fell, face first, into the water he was staring at. "You realize that doesn't count right?" He said before the cub had a chance to correct himself and send a dirty look his way. "I'm just saying that you know that doesn't count.. even if it did the waters don't seem to favor you." He snickered, finding quick wit in the situation among friends.
Then he watched as the other got up and scurried towards the actually events. He followed quickly, not wanting to be left behind. Though he had acted tough and confident he was a tad nervous about the ocean and whether or not it would accept him, love him and wrap him within her waves tenderly or spit him out like a sour fish. "Hey, wait up!" He called out to the cubs entering the waters, he was nervous, but he wouldn't be left on the sandy beaches while his litter mates and friends made their way into the waters.
So without further ado he made his way and found the waters warm, inviting and so his fears washed away while he entered.

 She couldn't have had better timing if she had tried! Just a few nights ago Yukio and Moyo had finally arrived safely back to Bahari lands. Both girls imminently had found a nice corner in her aunt's cave and crashed hard. After days of traveling on the road by themselves, getting lost, having trouble finding enough food for them both, along with a million and one other minor annoyances along the way they were plain tuckered out! Though their limbs were still achy, and Yukio's slight limp in her gait due to the painful blisters on her pads hadn't improved, once Yukio explained the importance of this event both her and Moyo agreed that there was nothing that would keep them from attending. Her aunt Ume had already passed the word along to Ram that the pair was intent on making this their permanent home and they had received his blessed as expected. But now it was time to make that new revelation known to everyone, as well as properly introduce Moyo to the gang. Yukio couldn't deny that it was hard not to go barreling into the water the moment it came into view. But no, she had a plan to make their arrival dramatic and surprising, because hey, if you have the opportunity why not go for it? First part of her grand plan: Make her reunion with the ocean in a much less populated place. She had hopes that all of the celebrations and overall nerves of the day would cause her much larger and extremely easy-to-spot appearance to be overlooked. The true test to see if the ocean would accept and play along with her this day after being gone for so long still remained up in the air! Quote: New rogue No advantages or disadvantages! Shio approached the edge of the sea after his brothers and a few other lions stepped into the surf. He was excited to see how he would fare in this little ceremony and hoped he'd do his father and mother proud. Hima, as a joining rogue, wasn't as fond of taking swims as the other Bahari were, but Shio loved the sea and exploring what he was allowed to explore as a cub and adolescent. He was a fairly strong swimmer but knew that the sea could be a dangerous place no matter how good you were.
