~Storyline~

Untold ages have passed on Earth, and Crystal Tokyo has finally fallen. In the war and chaos that followed its collapse, most of the human race was wiped out, and Earth restarted its evolution once more. The sailor senshi are long dead and have vanished into legend. In this distant future, civilization has once again reached a level of technology similar to our 21st century.

In the year 2014 of this new era, nine young women living in the city of Neo Chicago are about to discover an ancient power hidden within themselves. They are the new chosen ones, the Sailor Senshi of the Solar System.

But evil threatens the blue planet once more.

A cruel warlord from a distant constellation has sensed the power of the sailor crystals shining on Earth. His name is Dark Sirius, and he has earned a reputation for destroying every planet in his path. His victims meet a fate worse than death: when he bites them, they fall under his curse and turn into werewolves. Once their transformation is complete, they are bound to serve him for all eternity. His army grows with each planet he conquers, sweeping across the galaxy in a wave of darkness and suffering. Earth is his next target.

On a stormy night, he descends to Neo Chicago and takes on the form of a human. He slips in unnoticed among the civilian population, and makes Tiberinus High School in the heart of Neo Chicago his base of operations.

You are a student (or perhaps a teacher) at Tiberinus High School. One night, a vision of Princess Serenity appears to you in a dream and explains the situation. She tells you that there is hope: hidden in the basement of the school is a crystal known as the Light of Asena. Once each day, it will glow brightly and release a burst of energy that has the power to defeat Dark Sirius. But Dark Sirius will surely try to reach the Light of Asena first in order to destroy it.
You rush to the school, only to find several of your peers there as well. All of you head to the basement, and are astounded to discover a vast labyrinth. You eventually reach the heart of the maze and find the crystal floating in a column of light.

You know that Dark Sirius is among you, but you have know way of telling who it is. The Light of Asena can defeat Dark Sirius, but unfortunately, it also has a tendency to vaporize anyone else. After a long deliberation, the group decides there is only one way out. You will gather here and vote to sacrifice one person each day until Dark Sirius is found. Are you up to the task?

(Note: Even though I said "he", Dark Sirius could very well wind up being a girl in the game.)


~How to Play~


This RPG is based on the party game Werewolf, though this version of the game works a bit differently than the standard game. Here's a quick overview of how to play.

There are two teams, Sailor Team and Werewolf. The goal of the Sailor Team is to eliminate the werewolf threat by killing Dark Sirius. The goal of the Werewolves is to turn all players into Werewolves.

Each round of the game has a night phase and a day phase. During night phase, Dark Sirius picks one player to bite. That player is turned into a Werewolf. During the day phase, the Sailor Team must vote to "lynch" one player in an attempt to kill Dark Sirius. However, Werewolves also get to vote! After all votes are cast, the player with the highest total is killed. If it's Dark Sirius, the Sailor Team is victorious! If not... try again tomorrow. If the Sailor Team just doesn't have it in them to kill anyone, they can also vote "no lynch."

In addition, there are some "power roles" that will be randomly granted to some players via PM. (Details below.) Every role is not necessarily used in every game.

~Role Information~


Good Roles
The senshi could be male or female in this game, so each role has a (none too creatively named) opposite-gender equivalent.

Sailor Moon/Moonlight Mask: Once per game during the day phase, Sailor Moon can use "Moon Healing Escalation" on a player. If that player is a werewolf, they are healed and turn back into a human. This power will not work on Dark Sirius.
However, this powerful role comes at a price. If Sailor Moon is lynched, the Sailor Team will go into mourning and not be able to use any of their powers until the following night, leaving them wide open to attack by the werewolves.
Unlike other power roles, Sailor Moon loses her power if she is turned into a werewolf. (Sorry, but it wouldn't be fair.)

Sailor Mercury/Mercury Mask: Each night, Mercury can use her computer to scan one player and learn his or her role. It would be wise for Mercury to conceal her identity...

Sailor Mars/Mars Mask: Each night, Sailor Mars can use her scrolls to ward off evil from one player, preventing them from being bitten. However, she may not protect the same player two nights in a row.

Sailor Jupiter/Jupiter Mask: The first time Sailor Jupiter is attacked by Dark Sirius, she will fight it off without being bitten. She will know that she was attacked, but not by whom.

Sailor Venus/Venus Mask: As leader of the Sailor Team, once per game during the day phase Sailor Venus may unilaterally declare who will be lynched that day. Sailor Venus is the princess's decoy, so if her role is read by Mercury or Neptune, she will appear to be Sailor Moon.

Sailor Uranus/Uranus Mask: Sailor Uranus is independent and fiercely devoted to her mission. She will kill anyone who targets her at night... including Mars or Mercury. Because of their close bond, Sailor Uranus starts the game knowing who Sailor Neptune is.

Sailor Neptune/Neptune Mask: Once per game, Sailor Neptune can use her mirror to reveal one player's role to everyone. Sailor Neptune starts the game knowing who Sailor Uranus is.

Sailor Pluto/Pluto Mask: During any night phase, Sailor Pluto may stop time to halt Dark Sirius in his tracks and allow that night's victim to escape unharmed. However, using this power will cost Sailor Pluto her life.

Sailor Saturn/Saturn Mask: At the end of any day phase, if Sailor Saturn is the last remaining player who is not a werewolf, she destroys the world and everyone dies. Neither team wins! D:

Tuxedo Kamen/Sailor Earth: Each night, Tuxedo Kamen can pick a player to block. That player won't be able to use any of their night powers, and if he picks Dark Sirius, no one will be bitten. Tuxedo Kamen may not block the same player two nights in a row.

Innocent Bystander: These characters have no special powers other than participating in the daily vote. However, it is often their actions that determines the course of the game.


Evil Roles
Dark Sirius: The head of all werewolves. This player chooses one other player to bite each night, and that person becomes a werewolf. Dark Sirius thus knows the identities of all werewolves, though they may not know his.

Seer Wolf: This wolf uses his finely tuned senses to sniff out other werewolves. Each night, the Seer Wolf may scan one player and learn whether s/he is a werewolf.
The Seer Wolf starts off as an Innocent Bystander. His power is discovered when he is bitten.

Killer Wolf: Each night, this wolf may select a player and guess his/her role. If he is right, that player is killed.
The Killer Wolf starts off as an Innocent Bystander. His power is discovered when he is bitten.

Clumsy Wolf: This wolf is very unlucky. When he is bitten, his identity will be revealed to everyone.
The Clumsy Wolf starts off as an Innocent Bystander.

Werewolf: These are players who were turned into werewolves after being bitten by Dark Sirius. They have no special powers, nor do they know one another's identities. However, any "power roles" with the exception of Sailor Moon retain their powers after being turned into werewolves! They win the game if all surviving players are werewolves at the end of any phase.

~Rules~


1. Once the game starts, all discussion on this thread is considered in character! The only exception is OOC comments to ask questions about game rules.

2. Posts should be in first person, present tense. Indicate dialogue with quotes.

Example
As I'm walking down the hall, I notice my friend.
"Hello!" I call out, waving at him.


3. Once character per person, for obvious reasons. razz

4. Please do not edit your old posts after someone else has already replied. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of street justice.

5. You can conspire via PM, and this is often a key part of strategy! However...

6. Dead players may not talk about the game with players who are still alive, be it via PM, IM, or any other channel.

7. You can (and will probably have to) lie to the other players on occasion. Trust no one...

8. All RPing does not necessarily have to be related to the werewolf plot. If you want to have your characters goof off, make friends, or fall in love, go for it!

9. Let's talk prizes! Members of the winning team will receive a spiffy badge for their signature. Each surviving member of the winning team will receive a free chibi drawing of their character. (If anyone else would be willing to contribute prizes, PM me!)
