• The only thing I remember clearly from my chiledhood, is the one thing I dont want to remember. My family vacation to the laughing river. A beautiful place i have to say. One large shallow river the curved through a ditch of trees and cayons. The plants were green, and the trees bore fruits, my hole family was enjoying themselves. However, the one question occured to me why was it called the laughing river?
"Maybe cause the river makes you happy" my dad joked, I closed my eyes, I could hear the trickle of water, a woodpecker as it pecked out the rythem of spring, and bugs as the hummed through the trees. It didmake me happy.
My family slid form the path down the hill to get to the river. The water numbed my feet, I laughed as I stubled forward against the current. My sisters raced leaves and all sorts of games little kids do in rivers. But I just walked, and enjoed the beauty. Suddenly, something caught my eye. Fox tracks in the mud nearby. I stumbled out of the water to look at them closly. With a glint im my heart, I began to follow them.
The tracks twisted and curved, crossing it's path over and over again. My family was out of sight now, but i could still hear them, so i was okay. Finally, the fox tracks went down into a den, I layed down on my stomach and peered in. The sun on my back weakened, when I sat up, the moon was out, and night was here. In awe, I rooled onto my back and stared up at the sky, a full moon was glingting down on me, the stard filled the sky like someone had spilled a bottle of glitter, fiire bugs skimmed the bushes, and the crickets churped..... even at night laughing river was the most beautiful place in the world!

    Darkness
the sudden uiet sent a jolt through my body. One moment it had been bright and beautiful, then the next....pitch black, no firebugs, no moon no stars, no crickets. I coulsdn't see a thing, and the only thing i could hear, was the river. I slowly got up. "Mom? Dad?.....Girls" I called.. no answer. The air became cold, my hands began to sweat like crazy like they alwayse did when i got scared. Then something began to echo through the trees. A laugh. From a little girl, no one I recognized, the girl's laugh came from everywhere, yet nowhere. I stumbled forward, terrified. The laugh sent chills up my spine one after another. The water was cold, the rocks mosst, I fell again and again trying to get to...nyone, or anywhere safe. The laughing semmed to grab me like white, cold hands, it got louder and louder, then, it stopped. I did to, I just stood there in the middle of the river, wonder what had just happened, I was shaking like a leaf in the wind. MY skin clammy and wet. A red moon came out from behined a cloud. Reveling and blood red light, the bodys of my family, floating at my feet.
